Norwegian company Glomma Papp is competing in Packnorth Award 2026 with a packaging solution, Combibox 3 in 1, developed to meet the customer’s need to pack three different kits with different components, while achieving a high degree of standardization and minimizing the number of packaging components.
According to the company, the result is a smart, efficient and universal solution consisting of a box and an insert that fits all three product configurations.
The solution offers significant economic and operational benefits. By using a common design for all variants, the need for multiple die-cutting tools is reduced, resulting in lower production costs and simpler administration. Logistics, inventory management and packing processes are also streamlined, as only one item needs to be managed across the system, warehouse and production.
The standardization also provides substantial space savings. The solution requires just one pallet space, compared with three pallet spaces if each kit had its own box. This enables more efficient use of warehouse space while reducing transportation and handling costs.
The packaging is made from corrugated board – a robust and recyclable material that provides good product protection while supporting more sustainable packaging choices.
The solution is newly developed and has not previously been produced.
Now is the time to enter Packnorth Award 2026. The jury will meet in September.
As a participant, your entry will be showcased at Sign Print & Pack in Odense, Denmark, in September, followed by Empack in Stockholm a few weeks later. In addition, all participating entries will be featured in Packnews issue 4 this year.
